Toko - the company

1916 The company is established as "Tobler & Co." by Jakob Tobler; Manufacture and marketing of care products for footwear and leather goods.
1926 The first factory is built in Altstätten, Switzerland
1933/34 Tobler & Co. changes its name to Toko AG
1948 First international marketing activity on the occasion of the Olympic Games in St. Moritz with an official wax service
1962 Toko procures the new factory building in Altstätten
1970 Inauguration of the new administration building
1982 Company takeover by Alexander Schmidheiny
1993 Conzzeta Holding becomes the owner of Toko AG
2003 Integration of Toko AG into Mammut Sports Group AG

1916 Marketing of Tobler care products for footwear and leather goods
1933 Marketing of the first ski care product SkiGliss - the red-coloured varnish for wooden skis.
1940 Market introduction of the legendary rub-on wax 1-3-5, which revolutionised ski sport and was sold successfully for 40 years.
1948 Olympiawax Combi is launched, blue-red-green; at the same time, the Toko logo and yellow colour are introduced and have remained in service to the present day.
1969 The first Paraffin-Skiwax in the colours blue-red-green com onto the market.
1974 Introduction of Toko System 4 - the wax system used bye numerous Olympic winners and world champions.
1975 New concept for the hot wax range with the colour concept that has remained unchanged to this day yellow (warm), red (medium) and blue (cold).
1979 Introduction of Toko System Elite.
1985 Development of the new World Cup Wax system.
1989 Wet Jet and Streamline for racing - 100% fluorinated wax.
1991 Breakthrough in adding fluorine to paraffin waxes (Dibloc waxes).
1991 Sale of the footwear care brand Tobler; Toko AG is still the producer today.
1992 The first Dibloc Wax comes onto the market
1996 Nordlite Molybdenum is introduced - Toko is the first wax company to use this "lubricant".
1998 The Carbon Grip Wax range is launched for cross-country skiing.
1998 The introduction of Toko's own care range Toko Care for footwear and textile care.
2002 Toko AG is the first manufacturer to bring a 100% fluorinated liquid wax onto the market: HelX. Olympic winners in alpine, nordic and snowboard disciplines thanks to HelX.
2003 Introduction of the cross-country ski pole and glove collection. World Cup and Olympic winners as well as Wold Champions trust the Toko-developed and patented 232 grip system.
2004 The care product, Textile-Proof is crowned test winner by Outdoor magazine with the grade of "outstanding".
